IESNYC: 2016 Lumen Awards 

IESNYC’s New York City Department announced the winners of the 2016 Lumen Awards at the 48th annual Lumen Gala at Chelsea Piers on June 16, 2016. In the scope of the awards, exhibits the excellence of each project’s lighting design and celebrates the awarded winners. A record-breaking closes to 900 members of the lighting community and affiliated design industries attended the gala.

AWARD WINNING PROJECTS

Lumen Awards have been selected 14 award-winning projects. The award-winning projects were presented in three categories: Lumen Award of Excellence; Lumen Awards of Merit, and Lumen Citation categories.

Within the scope of the Lumen Awards of Excellence, two awards are shared with winners. Tillotson Design Associates awarded for “Lincoln Square Synagogue in New York” project and Fisher Marantz Stone’s “Covington & Burling’s Office Building in Washington DC” project is awarded.

In the scope of the Lumen Awards of Merit, six awards are met with the owners. Furthermore, Domingo Gonzalez Associates won a Merit for “The Korean War Veterans Memorial” project in Nashville-TN, KGM Architectural Lighting’s had one for “The OnAir and Open Studio at Hyundai Capital Services” project in Seoul, One Lux Studio’s received a Merit for “The Cafeteria at 85 Broad Street” project in  New York, Tillotson Design Associates had a Merit for “The Broad Museum” project in Los Angels are awarded. Additionally, BuroHappold Engineering won two Merits, one for Hillman Hall at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, and the second for Grace Farms in New Canaan, CT.

Moreover, in Citation Awards Category, Orsman Design’s “The Sherry-Netherland” project in New York; Christine Sciulli’s “ROIL” project; ICRAVE’s “Terminal A at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport” project; Cooley Monato Studio’s “NBCUniversal Lobisi ve Asma Kat Restorasyonu”; Cline Bettridge Bernstein’s “Daryl Roth Theatre”; and ARUP’s “Corning Museum of Glass Contemporary Art + Design Wing in Corning, NY” projects are chosen for wining awarded projects for Citition Awards.
